Just Start

Read time: 1 minute

Walk or run a mile before dinner. Chances are you might do a little more, or a little less. But the point is, you’ll start. And that’s better than nothing.

Do 30 squats. Chances are you’ll do more, or less, or you might do it with a loaded barbell, or with just your body weight. But the point is, you’ll start. And that’s better than nothing.

Do 10 push-ups. Chances are you’ll do more, or you’ll do fewer. But the point is, you’ll start. And that’s better than doing nothing.

You see, it doesn’t matter if you’re using a periodized program, conjugated method, undulating method, linear program, variable mix-modal, or a dozen other routines, or just something as random as 10 push-ups and a jog around the block.

If you start something, it’s better than doing nothing.

Moving is good. Moving vigorously is great. You can make it complicated, or you can make it simple.

Just start. You’ll be better for it.

    Johnny,

Found your site through a search related to Martin’s Leangains.
I am glad I found it.
You have a unique motivating way of seeing & expressing things.
This post is another prime example of it.
So, thanks for taking the time to share your ideas.

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff. I started out this blog for a few friends and family members — had no idea that it would eventually get hundreds of readers each day. The Lean Saloon family is growing.

      Best,
      Johnny
